Dedicated to providing compassionate legal guidance through life's most important decisions
I have been in Denton since coming to the University of North Texas as an undergraduate in 1967. This community has been my home for over five decades, and I am deeply committed to serving the families and individuals who make Denton County such a special place.
After graduating with a Ph.D. in history in 1980, I worked in corporate communications at Texas Instruments until starting my own freelance writing business in 1996. Life took an unexpected turn when my husband passed away in 2002 after a four-year battle with emphysema. This personal experience with loss and the complexities of settling an estate gave me firsthand insight into the challenges families face during difficult times.
Following this experience, I began teaching at North Central College in Corinth. In 2005, I realized the dream of a lifetime and started law school at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law), from which I graduated in 2009.
My practice is mostly probate and applications for heirship because that is the best combination of my legal training and my life experience. Having walked through the difficult process of losing a spouse myself, I understand the emotional and practical challenges that families face when dealing with legal matters during times of grief.
I try to de-mystify the probate process and make it as simple and painless as possible. The legal system can seem overwhelming when you're already dealing with loss, so I guide families through each step with patience and clear explanations.
I help families get the determination of heirship that will help them settle their loved one's estate. This process can be complex, but I work to make it as straightforward as possible for grieving families.
For people who are grieving the loss of a family member, let me deal with the legal paperwork; you have more important things to do.
I understand that when you're dealing with the loss of a loved one, the last thing you want to worry about is complex legal procedures. That's where I come in. I handle the legal complexities with compassion and honesty, allowing you to focus on what truly matters - your family and your healing process.
